UN warns of 'imminent risk of dying from disease, famine’ in Northern Gaza
Tremblay emphasised that the ongoing Israeli offensive has severely hindered the Palestinians' access to essential resources.
The United Nations has issued a stark warning regarding the escalating humanitarian crisis in northern Gaza, where the entire population faces an "imminent risk of dying from disease, famine, and violence," according to Anadolu Agency.
Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, UN Deputy Spokesperson Stephanie Tremblay highlighted the dire situation, stating, “The only UN assistance allowed into North Gaza since the start of the Israeli siege a month ago was supplies to hospitals during medical evacuation missions,” based on information from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Tremblay emphasised that the ongoing Israeli offensive has severely hindered the Palestinians' access to essential resources.
“The Israeli offensive is preventing Palestinians from accessing the essentials for their survival, including water,” she said.
Aid workers, too, face significant obstacles, as they are “not safe to do their work and are blocked by Israeli forces and insecurity from reaching people in need,” she added.
The UN Inter-Agency Standing Committee recently echoed Tremblay’s concerns, stressing the entire northern Gaza population’s urgent need for protection.
"Palestinians in northern Gaza have absolutely no protection as Israel continues its relentless attacks," she said. Tremblay also noted that 14,000 forcibly displaced Palestinians are currently sheltering in temporary sites amid fresh evacuation orders from Israeli authorities.
